Baby Teething Comfort Tips

by | Aug 30, 2021

Teething occurs in newborns between the ages of six and twelve months after birth. It is the stage at which their twenty tiny teeth begin to emerge in sparkling existence from their soft gums.

This process, however, causes discomfort to the young child in the form of irritation and pains in the gums, and it can quickly become distressing to the child. Every child is unique; a teething method that works for one child may not work for another. You may need to try several options and tips to find the ideal one for your baby.

Wipe Away Drools

When a baby drools, that’s likely a sign of teething, and it is normal for the child to soak his or her clothes in it. While changing the soaked cloth does not stop the drooling, it is recommended that the baby’s face and body be wiped and kept dry to avoid a rash.

Give The Gums A Massage

The majority of your baby’s teething pains are concentrated at the gums, which are usually succulent. To soothe your child, thoroughly clean your hand and gently rub and massage the gum with your index finger.

Preferably, the child should lie on his or her back, as this promotes relaxation and sleep. If the baby wakes up during the night, massage the baby’s gums again. The massage relieves the pain, unfortunately, it does not work with all babies.

Fruits That Have Been Chilled Help To Soothe The Gums

If your child is old enough to eat solid food, chilled fruit seems like a good idea. A chilled apple fruit should be placed in the baby’s mouth as it helps alleviate the discomfort.

While the baby is sucking, make sure the fruit does not break away and remains intact in the mouth, as this can lead to choking. Most people prefer to mash the fruit before giving it to the baby to suck. Strawberries, bananas, apples, and pears are among the popular fruits mentioned.

Teethers Help To Alleviate Pain

It is easier to soothe a teething child with a chilling pacifier or a teether than with other methods. The pacifier allows the child to chew on something while also ensuring that the gums are less irritated by using cold treatment.

Depending on your preferences and what is best for your child, you can choose between wood and rubber pacifiers.
