How Effective Is Whitening Tooth Paste?

by | Jul 10, 2017

We all wonder if spending the extra buck is worth it for whitening toothpaste. Is it a scam? Does it actually work?

The truth is, if you’re expecting a miracle then you’re most likely going to be disappointed. Non-whitening toothpaste has the focus of removing bacteria and surface stains and bad breath.  A toothpaste concentrated on whitening has a higher percent of silica and other ingredients that scrub your teeth as you brush. Whitening tooth pastes are great for surface stains and stains that haven’t been around for long. These toothpastes will be able to scrub the layer of stained discoloration away with consistent usage.

Unfortunately whitening toothpaste can only do so much.  For stained teeth that have not been taken care of require special care.  At Oakwood Dental, we offer in-office teeth whitening, guaranteed to create a huge difference with just one session.  In-office teeth whitening provides the quickest way to get the best results.
